Andreas Pereira progressing well at Man United this season

Andreas Pereira continued his good form for the Manchester United’s U21 side by scoring a well-taken long range effort against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Pereira got the third goal in an emphatic 5-0 victory when he picked the ball up inside the Blackburn half, skipped past a defender and lashing a curled effort into the bottom corner just before half-time.

At just 18, Pereira’s progress will have pleased his coaches and Louis van Gaal showed great faith in the teenager when he introduced him at half-time against MK Dons back in August.

In an altogether abject performance from United, Pereira’s raw talent and skill was evident as he tried to make things happen for a side devoid of ideas and creativity.

Pereira’s decision making has come on leaps and bounds this season which has certainly been one of the biggest positives for him.

Born in Belgium, Pereira took on the number of would be international colleague Adnan Januzaj for this season but it appears Pereira has chosen to represent Brazil in the future.

The midfielder made his debut for the Brazil U20 side this year and just this week was seen with Brazilian internationals Dante and Rafinha during Bayern Munich’s visit to Manchester.

Pereira’s long range effort against Blackburn is nothing new to keen watchers of the player who appears to fall into the bracket of making every goal he scores a memorable one. With United’s injury list showing no list of abating any time soon, Pereira will be keeping himself firmly in his manager’s thoughts.
