Luke Shaw could be sidelined with ankle ligament damage – report

Luke Shaw has suffered ankle ligament damage according to the Daily Mail and could face a number of weeks on the sidelines.

The 19-year-old left the Emirates in a protective boot with crutches after rolling his ankle in what was a painful looking injury against Arsenal.

Although Shaw was able to play on for a small period, he was promptly substituted because he was clearly in pain and unable to continue.

Depending on the severity of Shaw’s injury, he could potentially be out for a lot longer than a few weeks but hopefully there’ll be good news in that respect because he is now a very important player in Louis van Gaal‘s starting XI.

Shaw has had a tough time of it at the start of his United career thanks to a hamstring injury which ruled him out for some time and now an ankle injury which could also force him to miss some matches.

Confirmation on the severity of Shaw’s injury is likely to come on Friday during Van Gaal’s pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Hull this weekend and fans are certainly hoping any ligament damage is only minor.
