Ander Herrera started his first game in months last night in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Stoke City at Old Trafford.
The Spanish midfielder played well but wasn’t anywhere near as influential as he was at the weekend in the 3-0 win against Hull City, where he was instrumental having come off of the bench for the injured Angel di Maria.
Victory last night makes United the Premier League’s most in-form team with four wins in a row and heading into a tough game against Southampton next Monday, Herrera wants United to keep their good form going.
Great victory to continue the run. Now already thinking about the important match against Southampton. We want more!! pic.twitter.com/vESCeYF81d
Herrera might not have been as influential but his Spanish compatriot was once again central to United’s performance and was officially named Man of the Match having received 44% of the vote.
United’s recent run of form has been fantastic but the next two games up against Southampton and Liverpool will be their biggest test since victory over Arsenal. That being said, United will visit Southampton on Monday overflowing with confidence that they can come away with a win.
