Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is one of Manchester United’s top targets next summer according to the Daily Mirror.
Reports surfaced on Thursday night across several national newspapers that United and Louis van Gaal were planning a spending spree that would potentially eclipse this summer’s expenditure with Reus being one of the main targets.
After rumours that Real Madrid had first refusal on the Germany star were denied, it gave hope to several leading Premier League clubs that were hoping to bring Reus to England as soon as next summer.
However, the same piece that suggests United want to sign the winger also states that Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich are favourites to sign him and he’ll hook up with former team mates Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena.
A poll ran here at The Peoples Person this week shows that United supporters would prefer the young and talented winger join over 31-year old Arjen Robben and as Reus has a release clause, there is a distinct possibility
The Mirror and several other papers also mentioned the likes of Kevin Strootman, Diego Godin and Nathaniel Clyne will be high on van Gaal’s wanted list next summer as the club prepare for another busy summer whatever happens this season.
