Zinedine Zidane sees a big future for Guillermo Varela at Real Madrid after being thoroughly impressed by him on loan this season.
Varela, 21, joined from Manchester United in a surprise transfer this summer and has been playing under Zidane in the Real Madrid Castilla side.
The Uruguayan right-back has made such a good impression on Zidane that he has gone as far as to say he sees a big future for him in the Spanish capital.
“I knew there was a Uruguayan fullback at Manchester United,” Zidane said about Varela.
“I asked to see him and loved him. Luckily we could add him to Real Madrid, where I see a huge future.
Reports in the summer suggested Real Madrid signed Varela with an option to buy him were the loan to be successful and although there has been no official confirmation of this, it’s clear Varela has done very well on his loan spell.
