Man Utd transfer rumours round-up: Strootman joining, Van Gaal confirms new signings plan

Here is the latest Man Utd transfer news from around the web including suggestions it is only a matter of time before Strootman joins Manchester United and Louis van Gaal insisting he doesn’t need to sign any more defenders.

Mark Ogden from The Telegraph firmly believes it’s more a case of when, rather than if, Strootman will join United. The AS Roma striker will be in action tonight against Manchester City and were Roma to go out of the Champions League at the group stage, it would be interesting to see how Strootman reacts.

If Roma do go out, Strootman may begin publicly considered his future in the public eye at bit more and with the January transfer just around the window, could United make a move?

Defensively, United have had their fair share of injury woes this season but Louis van Gaal is confident that no new defensive personnel need to be signed, rather the current ones got fit.  The problem with United’s defenders has not been about their individual skill levels but the fact none of them can hold fitness for long enough. Elsewhere are reports Benfica’s Enzo Perez will not be moving to Valencia, leaving the door firmly open for Man United or anybody else who wanted to sign him cheaply.

To finish, Ryan Giggs showed that he still hasn’t lost his touch by having a game of keepy ups in his restaurant’s kitchen.
