Louis van Gaal has revealed Radamel Falcao could start against Aston Villa this weekend.
Last week, Van Gaal said Falcao could return against Liverpool and he came off the bench in the second half, so fans are hoping the Colombian will be back in the starting XI for the first time since October.
Van Gaal is happy with Falcao’s progression in training but has remained non-committal as to whether he will start or not.
“He has shown fitness in the training sessions,” Van Gaal told reporters this afternoon.
“Maybe I shall select him for the bench, maybe for the line up.”
Falcao hasn’t been rushed back into the team by Van Gaal but this week has told the press that he is closing in on 100% fitness, so a return to the starting XI cannot be far away.
With five games in the next 15 days starting with Villa, even if Falcao doesn’t start this weekend he will do so in the coming weeks.
