Ander Herrera has confirmed he missed Manchester United’s game against Aston Villa today through injury but insisted he hoped to be back again soon.
Louis van Gaal told reporters after the game that Herrera had suffered a new injury and although there is no confirmation on what type of injury it is, Herrera is confident it won’t keep him out for a long time.
Writing on his official Instagram account, Herrera said: “Well done mates! One more point to keep us in the top positions. I can’t be with the team today due to a little injury, but I will be ready again soon. Cheers to everyone!”
United really missed Herrera today at Villa Park. Darren Fletcher played in Herrera and Fellaini’s absence but simply wasn’t able to provide enough attacking drive from the middle, which blunted United’s attacking prowess despite so much possession.
Hopefully Herrera will be back in contention for United’s next game which at Old Trafford against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
