Manchester United are in for a busy Christmas period and Jonny Evans wants the squad to end the year on a good run.
United had their best period of form under David Moyes this time last year and have taken 19 points from their 21, including six wins in a row before Saturday’s match against Aston Villa.
The defender himself returned to action after three months out against Southampton but has looked unconvincing in the current 3-5-2 system.
The reds head in to the busy Christmas and New Year period which will see them play four games in ten days and Evans wants them to go out in top form.
“We felt we should have gone on to win, especially with them going down to ten men,” he told ManUtd.com.
“We got the goal early in the second half and had a lot of possession but didn’t create many chances other than the goal. Against ten men I thought we’d create more but it wasn’t meant to be.”
With Marcos Rojo potentially back on Boxing Day, Evans may not be a part of the festive program unless the current injury situation continues.
“It’s a busy period now and we’ve got to keep that momentum going of not losing,” added Jonny.
“We know what we have to do in the next couple of weeks with lots of games. We have the experience and it does test the squad, but I think everyone will get a lot of playing time and it’s always a great period to be involved in.”
