Angel Di Maria will return to action for Manchester United soon according to his wife.
Responding to a fan on Instagram who seemed eager to find out when United’s star player would return to the pitch, Jorgelina Cordoso said, ‘pronto, pronto’, meaning Di Maria would return soon.
Whilst his wife’s unofficial diagnosis is hardly set in stone and Cordoso isn’t on the United physio payroll it is reassuring that it appears Di Maria won’t be missing from action for too long.
The problem with the Argentinian isn’t clear with van Gaal expressing it was a pelvic issue but there’s been no further news on Di Maria since and nothing was mentioned during the pre-Stoke City press conference.
Supporters will hope there is further news before the games against Stoke and Yeovil Town on Sunday from the newspapers given it would be odd for United’s record signing not to be mentioned when van Gaal spoke freely about Rafael, Luke Shaw, Adnan Januzaj and Ander Herrera.
Di Maria had been relatively injury free at Old Trafford until he picked up a hamstring injury against Hull City in November, ruling him out for several weeks.
The midfielder returned briefly against Aston Villa but has been missing ever since with a new issue. There is no definitive date for his return yet but it appears unlikely right now that supporters will see their £60m man over the New Year period.
