Bale plays down Man United rumours

Gareth Bale has commented on rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United and downplayed any possibility he could be moving back to the Premier League.

In the last couple of weeks there have been growing reports linking United with a big money move for Bale this summer and that the Welshman could be up for a transfer, despite the excellent start to his career in Madrid.

However, Bale has done his best to quieten the rumours by insisting he is very happy with the current European champions, downplaying any chance of him leaving in the summer.

Speaking after Real Madrid’s friendly in Dubai against AC Milan, Bale said: “I am happy in Madrid, I love the club, the climate and the city. I really want to win more titles here. I have a contract with Real until 2019 and could be even more.”

United’s record breaking spend last summer of £150m was unprecedented and could mark the start of a new free spending regime under Louis van Gaal.

Reports are going to continue linking United with the biggest players but Bale has made it clear a move is not something he will be pushing for himself.
