The Spaniards have had an ongoing bromance that started back when Mata joined in January 2014 and Herrera became the third musketeer when he joined last summer.
We’ve joked on more than one occasion that De Gea, Mata and Herrera probably have sleepovers but they’ve actually gone and had one now.
“Different way to finish this year, Premier league doesn’t stop. Happy new year!!,” Herrera wrote on his Instagram having been used to not playing over the festive period.
De Gea also sent his own New Years message on Twitter:
Cambiamos de año pero seguimos con la misma ilusión. Feliz 2015!! Different year, same thrill. Happy 2015!! pic.twitter.com/89ot5vkDsG
United’s Spanish trio have all played their roles in this season so far and here’s hoping they continue to put in great performances in the second half of the year.
