Dani Alves denies Man Utd rumours

Barcelona defender Dani Alves has denied he will leave the club, saying he is ‘not interested’ in an exit.

The Brazilian international is now technically free to speak to other clubs as his contract expires in less than six months but it appears the 31-year-old wants to stay at the Nou Camp.

Alves has been heavily linked with move to Manchester United as well as Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG but despite no contract extension being penned, the Brazilian has no intention of leaving.

‘I’m not interested in negotiating an exit. I’m going to end my contract and then we will see,’ he said.

The right-back has been a constant presence in Luis Enrique’s side this season but rumours appeared earlier in the season suggesting he was a target of Louis van Gaal‘s.

Give persistent suggestions Rafael doesn’t have a long-term future at Old Trafford under the new manager, Alves has been one of several right-backs to be linked along with Nathaniel Clyne and more recently Seamus Coleman.

At 31, Alves would command no sell-on fee and a high wage and if Rafael is to leave a move for either Clyne or Coleman appears far more likely.
