Ander Herrera is excited to get Manchester United’s FA Cup campaign under way.
A Third Round tie away to Yeovil Town will give a classic FA Cup tie feeling thanks to the small 9,500 capacity ground and for Herrera it will be his first experience of the competition.
The Spaniard is doubly excited because he is likely to make his return to the starting XI having come on as a substitute against Stoke City last week and there is a shared excitement among United fans to see Herrera back in action.
It was no coincidence that United played their best football after Herrera came on at the Britannia Stadium. Prior to his introduction, United relied on long balls and had no passing rhythm but that changed thanks to Herrera. United’s strength lies in passing football thanks to the quality of our players, so Herrera needs to play more often.
Without question, United play much smoother football with Herrera in the side and if he can put in a strong performance against Yeovil today, he should be able to play his way back into Louis van Gaal‘s starting XI.
