Daley Blind could make Man Utd’s bench against Yeovil

Daley Blind could make his return for Manchester United by taking a place on the bench against Yeovil Town, according to reports.

The Dutch midfielder has been out of action since damaging his knee ligaments away on international duty with the Netherlands and was expected to make a return at some stage in January but to have him back immediately would be a great boost for the team.

Blind returned to training a couple of weeks ago and earning a place on the bench would indicate Louis van Gaal is happy with his progress.

Having both Blind and Carrick fit at the same time could see Van Gaal use either as a centre-back without losing influence in midfield. In Blind’s absence, United have suffered in the middle whenever Carrick has had to drop deep as Blind hasn’t been there because of a lack of options in the squad.

The good thing about Carrick playing so well is that there is less of an added pressure for Blind to return until he is 100% fit but even having him back on the bench would be a fantastic sign that he’d be back sooner rather than later.
