Di Maria doesn’t expect Ronaldo reunion

Angel Di Maria doesn’t believe former Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo will ever return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo left United for Real Madrid in 2009 and was soon joined by Di Maria before the Argentine left the Spanish giants for Louis van Gaal‘s new-look United side.

The best player in the world has often discussed his affection for the club and the possibility of returning to Old Trafford but his former team mate appears to have poured cold water on the rumours.

Even Jorge Mendes, synonymous for dealing with Manchester United transfers and acting as Ronaldo’s agent believes the Portugal international will finish his career in Spain and Di Maria echoes those sentiments.

“I don’t think he is coming back to Manchester,” said the current United no.7.

“It’s hard to quit Real Madrid. Maybe, but I think he’s having a great time and I don’t see that he wants to change,” the Argentinian reportedly told a radio station in his homeland.

Di Maria has hit the ground running at Old Trafford, scoring several goals in his opening months at the club before coming off the bench on Sunday to seal a 2-0 against Yeovil in the FA Cup.

If the latest rumours are to be believed, the chances of Bale leaving Madrid for Manchester are greater than that of Ronaldo returning.
