Mats Hummels not moving to Man Utd in January says agent and father

“There’s nothing to it.”

Manchester United fans have been dealt a severe blow with the news Mats Hummels won’t be leaving Borussia Dortmund this month, according to the players father.

As recent as yesterday, United fans were given hope that the World Cup winner could be on his way to Old Trafford after rumours of a bid came out but cold water has been poured on that almost immediately.

Bookies even began to slash their odds on Hummels leaving the struggling Bundesliga club for Louis van Gaal‘s side but Hummels’ father, Hermann Hummels says otherwise.

Dortmund have had a torrid season in Germany and Hummels has at times described the team as ‘pathetic’, strengthening the stories that he might be about to leave the club.

Whilst Hummels could decide to leave Dortmund in the summer should things not improve, it doesn’t appear as though United will get their top target this season.

It would appear the club have other defensive targets and will move swiftly on from the latest revelation regarding the Germany international but they have been dealt a further blow today too.

Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar has also appeared a target but he has been ruled out for over a month with a knee injury.
