West Brom have made an enquiry over the availability of Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher.
The 30-year-old Scottish midfielder has gone downhill since a strong pre-season and his performances have shown that he isn’t physically capable of handling the pace at United any more.
It was wonderful to see Fletcher even back on the pitch following his long battle with ulcerative colitis but when pushing sentiment aside, it’s clear his playing days are numbered at Old Trafford.

Fletcher will turn 31 in two weeks time and has been a United player for the last 20 years, right back from when he was an 11-year-old schoolboy. It would be fantastic to see him stay on in a coaching capacity but Fletcher is still good enough to carry on playing for a few years yet, just not at United.
Gary Neville knew his United career had ended when he had his moment against West Brom. Fletcher has had his moment on more than one occasion this season, will West Brom be where he can revive it?
