QPR vs Man United: Predicted XI – Falcao and Herrera to start

by Richard Laverty

David de Gea – Undisputed no.1 and the one constant in United’s line-up right now.

Rafael – Could return wearing a face mask, also important in the chances of returning to a flat back four.

Chris Smalling – Should United play a back four, he seemed comfortable alongside Marcos Rojo before Christmas.

Marcos Rojo – All quiet on rumours he might return this weekend but it appears he’s fit and the fact he’s left-footed makes him a constant in the line-up when fit.

Luke Shaw – First choice left-back, fit again and no threat from elsewhere with Ashley Young out

Daley Blind – Should be preferred in the holding role as a true defensive midfielder and would allow Michael Carrick to influence elsewhere.

Michael Carrick – Can flourish in the midfield two, doesn’t have to worry about defending as much, can concentrate on setting up chances for the attackers.

Ander Herrera – Appears out of favour but United much better with him on the pitch, this weekend is the perfect chance for that.

Angel Di Maria – None of this playing him up front Louis. If Di Maria plays at no.10, United have got every chance.

Wayne Rooney – Midfield options should/need to allow the captain to play up front and do what he does best, score goals.

Radamel Falcao – Not even on the bench last week but van Persie’s injury should give Falcao the chance he needs. Rumours will overflow if Wilson is preferred.
