Victor Valdes travels with Man United squad for QPR

by Sam Peoples

Victor Valdes travelled away with Manchester United’s match-day squad to face QPR later today.

This is the first away match which Valdes will be involved with but he was part of the match-day squad last weekend against Southampton, albeit only from a spot on the bench.

Valdes is more than likely going to slot into that same position on the bench once again today because the indomitable David de Gea is continuing to still improve a lot. Until such time as De Gea keeps making catastrophic errors (he won’t) or joins Real Madrid (he won’t, right?), then Valdes has to settle for being second choice.

An away day experience with United is something complete different to an Old Trafford game because the away supporters are absolutely superb and in voice for the whole game, before and after as well.

With Cambridge United coming up in the FA Cup Fourth Round, Louis van Gaal may give Valdes his debut the for the club and rest his no.1 David de Gea who could do probably do with having a weekend off to relax.
