Falcao continues to impress supporters despite drawing a blank

by Richard Laverty

Watching Manchester United beating Queens Park Rangers 2-0 you might have felt it just isn’t destined to happen for Radamel Falcao.

Overall, it was one of his most impressive performances. His movement was as good as any striker that has graced the shirt down the years, his hold up play was excellent and he clearly has the South American desire to fight for everything.

But three good chances came and went. Rob Green thwarted him twice before it appeared he’d put in a candidate for miss of the season, only to be saved by the fact Steven Caulker got a touch just before the ball rolled agonisingly through the Colombian’s legs.

Despite the misses, fans were much more positive about the 29-year-old’s performances and it’s clear everybody wants him to start turning good performances into deserved goals.

Nobody seems to know just how long Robin van Persie will be out for but his absence should give Falcao another chance to impress against League Two side Cambridge on Friday night in the FA Cup.

A good performance there and the Colombian will have no better opportunity to shine in the league than when Leicester come to Old Trafford in a fortnight.
