Adnan Januzaj puts in encouraging performance against Cambridge

by Richard Laverty

Adnan Januzaj started just his third game of the season or Manchester United in the 0-0 draw against Cambridge United on Friday night.

Whilst Abbey Road and the opponents it held were different to Chelsea and Manchester City, he was one of United’s few positive performers.

Starting as part of the midfield diamond, Januzaj showed some bright touches but struggled to influence the game as he had on the wing under David Moyes last season.

However, after a switch out wide in the second half, the Belgian gave supporters every reason to believe he can still fulfil his unquestionable talent.

There have been constant rumours of a loan move for Januzaj given his lack of games but his performance late on as United searched for a winner won’t have gone unnoticed by Louis van Gaal.

Januzaj put in several teasing balls and some superb footwork in stoppage time gave late chances to Robin van Persie and Angel Di Maria but both were thwarted by Cambridge goalkeeper Chris Dunn.
