Norwegian teenager set for Man United trial

Edvard Sandvik Tagseth has scheduled a trial at Manchester United in February, according to Norwegian local newspaper Trønder-Avisa.

The 14-year-old did recently enjoy a successful trial spell at Everton where he actually scored the winner in a youth cup game against Man United.

Now, the current Neset FK youth player is set for another trial at the Toffees as well as a five-day trial at United and six days in the blue part of Manchester. He’ll be accompanied by his father Tore Tagseth.

“It’s extremely exciting,” Sandvik Tagseth’s uncle Øyvind Sandvik told Trønder-Avisa.

“These trials are mostly about seeing what the actual clubs have to offer.”

Sandvik has played a key role in engineering the trials and is likely to join the father and son when they visit clubs.

Man United may have lost out on Martin Odegaard but there will be lots more youngsters who come for trials at the club such as Sandvik Tagseth.

In the wake of the trials, Tagseth will be featuring for Norwegian tier four side Neset FK’s U16s and U19s and is likely to go on occasional visits at Rosenborg.
