The teenager has impressed at U21s level and was given his first team debut under Louis van Gaal in August and despite several more bench appearances, Pereira is now free to speak to other teams thank to his contract expiring in the summer.
Despite not yet making an impression in the first team, the 19-year-old hasn’t had a chance to show his talent consistently at the top level due to United’s current midfield options.
The fact he has already turned down a new contract will be worrying to United fans and they’ll hope a move away wouldn’t end up like a repeat of the Paul Pogba situation.
Pereira joined United in 2011 from PSV Eindhoven and despite his Belgian routes has chosen to represent Brazil at U17 and U20 level. PSG are also said to be continuing their pursuit of Pereira’s team-mate, Adnan Januzaj, and United won’t want to lose two of their brightest talents to the same side if they can help it.
Pereira isn’t the only youngster waiting on a new deal. Defensive duo Patrick McNair and Tyler Blackett could also leave the club in June if they are not offered new contracts by the club.
