Zaha happy at Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha has re-emphasised that he is happy at Crystal Palace after suggesting last week he would be happy to return to the club next season.

Zaha has done well back at his former club and seems to be thriving on regular football and playing under a manager who the winger says ‘has trust in him’ after Louis van Gaal allowed him to leave on loan.

David Moyes also failed to see what made Sir Alex Ferguson spend a large chunk of money on him as he helped Palace to promotion from the Championship and loaned him to Cardiff for the second half of last season.

If Zaha carries on his good form, he could return to United but right now he is enjoying his time back at Selhurst Park.

“Obviously there was a period when I was thinking ‘what’s going on here?’, but as a footballer you just need to not think about that side too much,” he said post-match at Southampton on Saturday.

“You just have to remain professional and when you get the chance, to take it. You can’t just dwell on the past and I’m not the type to do that.

“I know myself. I know if I get more minutes I will get better so to find a manager that has got trust in me and to get me on the pitch and let me do my thing is great.

“Obviously I’m going to lose the ball – I’m the type of player to do tricks – but if I get the chance I will either try to score a goal or assist.”

Whilst Zaha certainly doesn’t lack confidence, a manager like Van Gaal will certainly hope for some more composure and end product from the winger should he return to Old Trafford.
