Fans’ view: Should Zaha be sold by Man Utd?

by Richard Laverty

With so many big names leaving Manchester United in the summer, certain departures went under the radar and Wilfried Zaha’s loan spell back to his former club Crystal Palace was certainly one of them.

Whilst players such as Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Patrice Evra departed for good and others like Javier Hernandez and Nani leaving on loan, Zaha was one never really given a chance.

Louis van Gaal gave every one a chance during pre-season but Zaha never made a competitive appearance before being allowed to return to the club Sir Alex Ferguson made him his last signing from.

Rumours have surfaced recently that Zaha will re-join Palace permanently sooner rather than later but some supporters believe the winger hasn’t had a fair crack at the whip at Old Trafford.

At just 22, Zaha has looked good at Selhurst Park this season and has shown trickery and skill that United have at times lacked out wide so far under van Gaal.

But the winger has made just three appearances at Old Trafford, all under David Moyes and it appears the club are now set to make a big loss on the player.

Many fans will wonder why Ferguson bought a player he was never going to coach and Zaha could easily become another player United have let go that has gone on to flourish elsewhere.
