Juventus veteran Andrea Pirlo believes team-mate Paul Pogba will never return to Manchester United and that the club will have to live with the ‘mistake’ they made in letting him go.
Pogba made the break into United’s first-team in 2011 after starring in a successful FA Youth Cup winning side but left the club in 2012 after failing to get assurances over his importance from Sir Alex Ferguson.
Supporters constantly lament the departure of Pogba given the talent he showed as a teenager but nobody quite expected Pogba to establish himself as one of the best midfielder’s in the world just two years after departing Old Trafford.
“For whatever reasons they chose not to give him a chance and that is a mistake they will have to live with now,” Pirlo said.
“I can’t see that he will ever return to Manchester United.”
Raiola is infamous for moving his clients around for financial reasons and there’s no doubt he had a big influence in Pogba deciding to leave United for the Italian giants.
Pogba can feel his decision was justified given his immediate role in the first-team and the fact just two years after after making the move he was voted best young player at the 2014 World Cup.
United face competition from rivals Manchester City to re-sign Pogba and would undoubtedly have to smash their club record once again to bring him back to Old Trafford.
