Man Utd latest team news for Leicester – Carrick injured for four weeks

by Richard Laverty

Here is the latest Manchester United team-news ahead of tomorrow’s game against Leicester City at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick will miss a month of the season now due to a muscular injury, confirmed by Louis van Gaal this afternoon. It’s a real blow for Man United given his form and how important he has been to the team since returning from injury.

Ander Herrera could profit from Carrick’s absence. The midfielder hasn’t started a league game since November and fans would love to see him return.

Robin van Persie returned from injury against Cambridge after a brief spell out of the team and he tends to get the nod when fit. Will Radamel Falcao drop out?

Rafael was fit enough for the bench last week but once again it would appear he is out of favour with Van Gaal even when the managers chooses a back four.

Luke Shaw will really want to hold down a place in the team now after spells in and out of the team. He hit some good form before his latest setback before Christmas.

Adnan Januzaj showed his talent on the wing for United last week at Cambridge. Unlikely he’ll start but may be an option from the bench.
