There was once a time when Manchester United fans would sit back on transfer deadline day with some popcorn to watch on as clubs frantically ran around looking for last minute deals.
Sir Alex Ferguson always tended to do his business earlier in the window which meant a relaxing end to the window but those days left with the Govan Boy. Come early the next morning, Radamel Falcao shocked the world by agreeing a deal to join United on loan when it had seemed almost certain he was either heading for local rivals Man City or a move to Real Madrid.

Whilst it would be ambitious to expect any sort of repeat given how quiet and reserved Man United have been in the January transfer window, it does show that anything can happen on deadline day…
