Here is a round-up of the Manchester United transfer news and gossip on deadline day.

United are looking at Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan (The Mirror). With the transfer window getting ready to slam shut until the summer, United are reportedly lining up a last ditch move for midfielder Nainggolan. The 26-year-old Belgian has continually impressed for Roma and has now caught the eye of Louis van Gaal.

United are considering a late move for Mats Hummels (Daily Mail). It was reported that United had recently held talks with Dortmund around a move for the German international centre back and the club are now apparently ready to make a last minute effort to bring the influential Dortmund star to Old Trafford.

David de Gea has issued United with an ultimatum regarding any new contract (ESPN). It was reported last week that De Gea was set to sign an extension keeping him at United until 2020. However, it is now being reported that no deal has yet been agreed and that De Gea’s camp are insisting that United include a buy-out clause in any new deal.

United fans are keen to see the future of the Spaniard resolved as he continues to stand-out as one of United’s most important players. De Gea is reportedly happy in Manchester but the pursuit of Real Madrid will play on his mind as long as his contract situation continues.

Anderson is to complete his move to Brazilian side Internacional (various). The 26-year-old is believed to be in Brazil to complete his medical ahead of completing his Old Trafford departure.

United will make a move for Marquinhos before the transfer window closes (Telefoot). It was reported that United were interested in Marquinhos early in January and now the club are set to make a dramatic move to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford this month. The 20-year-old is widely considered to be one of the world’s top defensive talents and PSG are suitably reluctant to let go of the young star, but Marquinhos is reportedly keen to see more playing time. If United are to secure any dramatic deal for Marquinhos, they will have to part with around £35 million.

West Brom are aiming to sign Darren Fletcher before the end of the transfer window (The Express). It was expected that Fletcher would complete a move to West Ham but it has now been confirmed that move has collapsed.

West Brom have been in pursuit of the Scottish international since his availability became apparent. Pulis is now looking to take full advantage of Fletcher’s failed move to Sam Allardyce’s West Ham.

United are set to miss out on Nicolas Otamendi (The Mirror). United have been linked with the 26-year-old Argentine in this transfer window and the previous window. Now, Valencia are set to secure Otamendi’s future with a new contract that will double his current wages. The Spanish side will hope the new contract acts as a deterrent to potential suitors such as United.
