Rojo delighted with first Man Utd goal

Marcos Rojo has taken to social media to express his delight after scoring his first Manchester United goal in the 3-0 win over Cambridge United on Tuesday.

The Argentine powerfully headed home for Man United’s second of the night after Juan Mata had opened the scoring. James Wilson’s late finish eventually wrapped up a comfortable win for Louis van Gaal’s side.

Speaking on social media, Rojo said he was pleased with the result:

The 24-year-old has quickly established himself as a fans’ favourite at Old Trafford since joining from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

Rojo had big shoes to fill following the departures of experienced defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, but a string of assured performances has arguably established him as United’s best central defender.

A dislocated shoulder in November and a thigh strain in December has limited his progression somewhat, but United fans will now be hoping he can get a good run of games in the side.
