Rafael and Blackett unlikely to play against Burnley

Rafael and Tyler Blackett are unlikely to play against Burnley on Wednesday night after both players played the full 90 minutes in Manchester United’s U21s game against Chelsea yesterday.

Ashley Young got 60 minutes under his belt and could make the substitute’s bench for United’s Premier League game against The Clarets.

Rafael has recovered from a fractured cheekbone suffered against Yeovil Town last month but the 24-year-old has not featured for the first-team for a while. His situation is a source of worry for United fans as it looks like the popular Brazilian may be heading for a United exit in the summer.

Blackett is not injured but has been frozen out of the first team by Louis van Gaal after an encouraging start to the season at Old Trafford. The defender is yet to sign a new contract at the club and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be offered one.

Young is making a welcome return to action after being sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury. The Englishman was playing brilliantly prior to his injury and United fans will want to see him return to the first team as quickly as possible.
