Marcus Rashford scored a stunning 30 yard free kick in Manchester United’s U18s 3-1 FA Youth Cup loss against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

The 17-year-old levelled the scoring at 1-1 after wrapping his foot around the ball and placing it into the bottom right hand corner of Harry Voss’ net which gave Tottenham’s goalkeeper absolutely no chance of getting a hand to it.

Unfortunately for the U18s, Spurs took the game away from them thanks to goals from Ismail Azzaoui and Anthony Georgio and they eventually saw out a deserved 3-1 win.

It was a disappointing night for United but Ashford put in a bright performance and can be proud of his strike.

Widely regarded as a rising star at Carrington, Rashford was born and raised in Manchester and grew up as a United fan.

The youngster has excellent close control and often drops deep in midfield to play a pass. He clearly has talent and we’ll be keeping you up do date with his progress as he continues his development at United.
