Derby County have confirmed Jesse Lingard will make his full debut this afternoon in their FA Cup clash against Reading.
The 22-year-old joined Derby on transfer deadline day immediately after signing a new long-term contract with Man United and it could prove to be a very important loan spell for the youngster.
Lingard made his full Man United debut on the opening day of the season against Swansea but a cruel knee injury kept him out of action for six months and he is only now coming back to fitness.
Derby is a great loan for Lingard because they’re enjoying a promotion push in the Championship this season as well as an FA Cup run that could continue if they beat Reading this afternoon.
Louis van Gaal is a big fan of Lingard and will be keen to see him back in action ahead of the pre-season tour which he will likely be a part of.
Lingard is one of a number of Man United players in action this weekend on loan including Ben Pearson at Barnsley and Will Keane at Sheffield Wednesday.
