Manchester United fans want to see more of Ander Herrera

by Richard Laverty

Manchester United fans were delighted when it was announced that Ander Herrera was starting against Preston on Monday night.

It was just Herrera’s second start of 2015 and like his first start, he capped with United’s opening goal of the night, giving them the platform to come back and defeat the League One side.

After an impressive performance against Burnley, the Spaniard struggled early on in the game but really came into his own as Louis van Gaal changed systems in the second half.

He popped up with a goal and found much more room around the edge of Preston’s box and really helped the team tick as they searched for victory and fans were happy with his contribution.

Supporters will hope Herrera’s start was due to his performance in midweek against Burnley rather than just because Wayne Rooney was pushed up front.

Rooney settled the match with a late penalty but if van Gaal does return the captain to his midfield position, Herrera may be on the bench again vs Swansea this weekend.
