Manchester United’s Luke Shaw pleased to reach FA Cup quarter-finals

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has taken to social media to express his delight at reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Shaw helped United see off the threat of Preston North End in the fifth round of the competition on Monday night as they secured a 3-1 win.

Scott Laird put Simon Grayson’s side in front just after half time but goals from Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney sealed United’s progression into the next round.

Shaw was delighted with the win and thanked United fans for their support during the match:

Shaw was making his comeback after sitting out United’s 3-1 win over Burnley last week because of suspension and he produced a solid performance.

Louis van Gaal‘s side made a slow start to the match however and were lucky not to go further behind after Laird’s goal when Preston missed a number of good chances.

They will have to play much better if they are to prosper this season as the club heads into the tail end of the campaign.
