Brazilian club Fluminese have confirmed they have received a bid for Manchester United target Kenedy.
According to their director, Fernando Simon, the club have received bids for the striker of around ‘€5-6 million’ but did not confirm a bid where the club was from.
United were first linked with a move for the exciting 19-year-old earlier this month with van Gaal seemingly keen to further explore the South American market after the additions of Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo in the summer.
Kenedy is capped for Brazil at U17 level and Simon also confirmed the club have received a bid for midfielder Gerson, potentially an even more exciting prospect that his team-mate.
“We have received formal offers but nothing to do business for. At €5-6 million we will certainly not sell,” Fluminese’s director Simon said.
“How much? We do not put a fixed price, but we can say that without haste […] they [Kenedy and Gerson] are the best, as young and absolute prospects for the future of the whole of Brazil.”
With the summer transfer window quickly closing in, it is sure to be another busy and expensive few months for the club but it would be clear van Gaal is also looking towards the club’s future if the likes of Kenedy are on his horizon.
