Manchester United are keeping an eye on 19-year-old Turkish midfielder Ozan Tufan, according to the player’s father.
Tufan is a versatile player, playing predominantly in midfield but can also play on either wing as well as fitting in at right-back, a quality Louis van Gaal has before said he admired in potential signings.
With United potentially chasing a midfielder, right-back and a winger this summer, Tufan may become the perfect utility player with plenty of potential if the club really are interested.
The player’s father also named Atletico Madrid as a potential destination for the Bursaspor star and Turkish midfielder Arda Turan may hold some influence given he has appeared alongside Tufan for the national team. At just 19, Tufan is already capped six times for his country, scoring his first goal against Denmark last season.
The player’s father, Mehmet confirmed to AS in Spain that representatives from Atletico made the trip to Turkey on a few occasions to watch his son in action:
“Atlético and also Valencia have been to see him play but they are not alone. Other big European teams have sent scouts to watch Ozan play. AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, City and United”.
With Rafael seemingly out of favour, Tufan may be a good back-up option if Nathaniel Clyne also joins the club in the summer given United’s current back-up right-back is Antonio Valencia, predominantly a winger.
