Real Madrid considering Radamel Falcao bid – report

Real Madrid are now considering whether or not to try and sign Radamel Falcao if Manchester United decide not to sign him on a permanent deal, reports the Daily Mail.

The current European champions were believed to be where Falcao was going to join last summer but the Colombian instead moved to Man United.

Unfortunately for Falcao, it simply hasn’t worked out for him at United. So far, with only three months left of the season, Falcao’s four goals in 14 starts isn’t good enough. His time is short for him to prove to Louis van Gaal he deserves a permanent deal.

Every summer Madrid make a blockbuster signing or two so it would be no surprise to hear Falcao is back on their radar but it would be a calculated risk to make a move for him, in much the same fashion as United’s was a risk last summer, one which hasn’t paid off just yet.

If Falcao was to leave United, you get the feeling he could emulate Diego Forlan and go on to be a great goalscorer again only once he had left United. As they say, form is temporary, class is permanent.

It’s considered unlikely that Javier Hernandez will stay at Madrid which leaves the Spanish side one striker short in their squad, a spot which Falcao could be being eyed up for.

Of course, all of this is irrelevant if United were to sign Falcao on a permanent deal but at this stage there has been nothing to suggest that will be the case.
