Manchester United new boys Sadiq El Fitorui and Andy Kellett both made their Manchester United U21s debut last night in their 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
El Fitouri started on the bench while Kellett came on for the last five minutes of normal time.
It was a quiet performance from El Fitouri but after Tyler Blackett inexplicably pushed a Sunderland player in the face and was sent off, El Fitouri switched positions and took up the right-back spot.
Versatility is a trait which always serves any younger player well so being comfortably playing in more than one position is something that should help him get more game time with the U21s.
As for Kellett, he made his debut in the closing stages of the game so he wasn’t able to really show what he’s made of.
However, now that he has an appearance for the club, Warren Joyce could be inclined to give him an opportunity from the start. With Tyler Blackett now suspended for three games, there’ll certainly have to be a re-jig in defensive personnel.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on both El Fitorui and Kellett to see how they get on with their future performances in upcoming weeks.
