Pacey but strong on the ball, El Fitouri possesses a powerful stride and was a big presence on the pitch against Sunderland.
The 20-year-old started the game in an advanced role but Tyler Blackett’s sending off forced him into the right-back spot.
He would have hoped for better circumstances for his first appearance but he can be happy with the shift he put in.
If you didn’t get to watch the U21s in action last night, here’s a highlights reel of his performance:
El Fitouri was signed by United after he impressed while playing for Salford City.
He was brought to Old Trafford on the recommendation of Paul Scholes and Phil Neville and was the first in a spate of youth signings for United as they also secured the signatures of 16-year-old Indy Boonen and 21-year-old Andy Kellett.
It will be interesting to see how El Fitouri develops as he is clearly versatile enough to play anywhere on the right flank, a trait which all youngsters are encouraged to have in order to maximise their game time.
