Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has denied rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid and insisted he is prepared to fight for his place at Old Trafford.
Falcao has suffered from an indifferent season at Man United since moving on loan from Monaco last summer.
The Colombian has scored just four times in 19 appearances and was dropped for United’s Premier League clash with Swansea City last weekend.
However, when asked if he thought he might join Madrid, Falcao dismissed the rumours : “I’m in Manchester and I’m happy to be here.
“I’m fighting for my place and I’m eager to play more and more.”
Fans have been particularly frustrated with Falcao however given his world-class reputation when he arrived at the club.
Monaco and United have reportedly agreed a fee for Falcao should van Gaal wish to keep him but it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman exercises this option. With time running out for Falcao to impress, all signs are pointing to his summer exit.
