Tyler Blackett has signed a new contract at Manchester United which will tie him down to the club until at least June 2017, with an option to extend for a further year.
The 20-year-old rose through the ranks at Man United before making his first-team debut against Swansea City in Louis van Gaal’s first competitive game in charge.
Blackett went on to make 10 appearances for United following his debut and enjoyed a promising start to his first-team career.
Although he has been left out of the squad in recent weeks, fans will be delighted to see the youngster commit himself to the club.

Blackett follows in the footsteps of Paddy McNair, who also signed a contract until 2017 earlier this month.
The pair have both impressed having made the step up from the U21s and their new contracts are richly deserved. Blackett will be hoping to get back into the squad when United take on Sunderland on Saturday.
