Manchester United’s James Wilson available for Sunderland after overcoming injury

James Wilson has overcome a dead leg he suffered playing for Manchester United’s U21s and is available for selection this weekend.

The 19-year-old had to be substituted earlier this week and there were fears he may have had to spend some time on the sidelines which would have been a real blow following an ankle injury to Robin van Persie.

However, he has been passed fit by van Gaal and is in line to be part of United’s matchday squad tomorrow.

Radamel Falcao and Wayne Rooney are also both available for selection so there are no guarantees Wilson will start against Sunderland but van Gaal will be happy at having another option.

Although the Colombian is the bigger name, his indifferent form means it is a toss up between him and Wilson for the starting spot alongside Rooney up front, unless van Gaal decides to put United’s captain back in midfield once again.
