Bolton Wanderers extend loan of Manchester United keeper Ben Amos

Bolton Wanderers have extended the loan of Manchester United keeper Ben Amos by a further month.

The 24-year-old had originally been signed on a one-month deal by Bolton boss Neil Lennon in January following an injury to Adam Bogdan.

Amos had to wait for his chance in the first-team and was brought on for the injured Andy Lonergan in Bolton’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

The youngster has started both of Bolton’s games since then and has done enough to earn himself a further spell at the club.

The signing of Victor Valdes in January meant Amos was pushed further down the pecking order at Old Trafford and it was unlikely he was going to be given a run in the team anytime soon.

Against Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of February, Bolton were indebted to Amos as he made a string of fine saves in a 1-0 victory and with his opportunities at Man United limited, it is good to see Amos given a chance to impress at another club.
