Di Maria: I’ve been happy ever since I joined Man United

by Sam Peoples

Angel di Maria enjoyed a blistering start to his life as a Manchester United player but has since leveled out with his form and his substitution against Sunderland was certainly a low point for him so far.

Despite the disappointment of being taken off by Louis van Gaal, Di Maria has shown no signs of being frustrated with life at Old Trafford. In fact, he has moved to dispel any rumours of unhappiness altogether.

Speaking to ESPN Deportes, the Argentinian insisted he has been happy ever since he joined in the summer and, not for the first time, pledged his future to the club.

Although the cliche ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’ is overused, it applies perfectly to Di Maria’s situation. He was rightfully hauled off by van Gaal at the weekend after a very poor first half but we saw a glimpse of what he can do when on-form at the start of the season, something fans are hoping he can re-find in the crucial run in.

Di Maria is happy at Man United and wants to stay with the club. The fans most certainly want him to as well. Now, what he has to do is focus and get back to his best because if he can spearhead United to a top four finish, he’ll be worth every penny of the £59.7m paid for him the summer.
