Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has dismissed rumours linking Marquinhos with a summer move to Manchester United.
The Brazilian joined PSG from Roma in 2013 but the arrival of David Luiz last summer pushed him down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes.
Marquinhos has suffered from a lack of game time during this campaign and he recently revealed PSG had turned down advances from United for his services.
His agent has also been fuelling rumours about his future but Blanc says the 20-year-old will be going nowhere.
Speaking about Marquinhos, Blanc said: “We all know Marquinhos is a great player. He has wonderful spirit and a good mentality. He represents the future of Paris Saint-Germain.
“We’re doing everything we can to keep him. We will do everything possible to make him extend his contract with us. We know how great a player he is.”
United have been linked with a wide range of centre backs and it is clear that they want to improve the defensive side of their squad.
Although United have one of the best defensive records in the Premier League, this has largely been due to the fantastic form of David de Gea in goal. Evans, in particular, has put in some increasingly mediocre performances and all signs are pointing to his summer exit.
