Ander Herrera admires Arsenal ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final meeting between the two sides on Monday night but does not fear them.
Arsenal travel to Old Trafford in good form having won seven of their last eight Premier League games and the FA Cup quarter-final on Monday is set to be a tense game with a place in the semi-final on the line.
Herrera has enjoyed a run of starts in the team of late and will be hoping to line up against the Gunners. The Spaniard is well aware of how important the fixture is but says United will go into the game with no fear.
Speaking about the match, Herrera said: ”Now we are looking forward to our match in the FA Cup because it’s a very big chance to win a trophy this season. But we have to respect Arsenal because they are playing very well.
“We are Manchester United and we are not afraid. We are going to play in front of our fans and we need them [for us] to win.”
Herrera’s repeated absence from the starting XI earlier in the season appears to be a thing of the past which will delight United fans.
Although the 25-year-old suffered from a few shaky moments against Newcastle the team undoubtedly look better with him in it. He also enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Daley Blind but Michael Carrick’s return from injury may complicate the midfield situation at United. Regardless, it is a good problem for Louis van Gaal to have as he bids to get the team back into the Champions League.
