Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini believes Manchester United target Paulo Dybala has the potential to be as good as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been linked with Dybala, who is enjoying a fine season in Serie A having scored 12 goals in 25 games.

Dybala had previously said he dreams of playing at Barcelona or City after suffering from a breakdown in his relationship with Zamparini.

However, Zamparini now insists he has a good relationship with Dybala and has warned potential suitors they will not get the 21-year-old on the cheap as he has the ability to become one of the best players in the world.

”For me, Dybala is the Messi of the future,” Zamparini told Radio Anch’io.

“I value him at €40m but we will have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season. There has been a lot of talk about Dybala, but his agent is just doing his work. I have a good relationship with him.”

Man United could use some vibrancy in attack given the indifferent fortunes of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie this season.

Falcao dropped down to the club’s U21s side on Tuesday while van Persie is currently injured with an ankle injury and although Wayne Rooney has had a resurgence in form since moving back up frontm, United simply don’t pose enough threat going forward.

United have often looked predictable from an offensive point of view so a young, quick forward would give Louis van Gaal an extra dynamic when it comes to attacking, something United certainly need right now.
