Fellaini scored Man United’s opener and had a big hand in the team’s second as Michael Carrick arrowed a header into the net.
The Belgian had come under fire prior to the game following some indifferent performances this term.
However, Neville was impressed by his all round performance and named him as the game’s outstanding player.
Speaking about the 27-year-old, Neville said: “Fellaini is my man of the match. Not just his goal but his performance and the constant problems he caused.
“Fellaini was good in the air, on the ground and positionally he set the tone.
“Fellaini is a unique threat on set pieces which means you have to do something different with him.”
In fairness to Fellaini, it is not his fault he is, well, Fellaini. Fellaini is the type of player who forces a team to play in a certain way by more often than not lumping it up to his big head.
That being said, the Belgian midfielder showed he has more strings to his bow against Spurs and produced what was his best performance in a United shirt. Nobody would have expected to see Fellaini galloping through on goal before firing in a pin point left footed finish, ever, but that’s precisely what he did and he deserves all the plaudits he gets for his overall performance.
Fans will be hoping for more of the same when United visit Anfield to face Liverpool next week, a game where Fellaini’s physicality could be very important.
